The River is a book is an adventure, survival story written by Gary Paulsen. Brian and Derek are going to be in the wild to survive by themselves so they can come back and tell what they did to survive. Derek brought supplies with him to take notes so that he can come back, and tell soldiers how they can survive like they did. I would recommend this book to people who would like to try to survive in the wild like campers and people who enjoy nature.

I've heard that many boys liked this book. So if your male, it's a good idea to read it. But, girls can also enjoy this book. Gary Paulsen is a really good author and anyone who likes outdoor activities will like anyone of his amazing books! :] Keep reading!!
